How to Use the World Clock & Time Zone Converter

This tool shows the current time in major cities around the world all at once, and converts "what time a given moment is somewhere else." It is handy for scheduling meetings with overseas partners, calling family who live abroad, and checking arrival times when you travel.

  • Current time in major cities: Tokyo, New York, Los Angeles, London, Paris, Dubai, Shanghai, and Sydney — plus "Your location" based on your device — are shown and updated every second. Click any card to copy the time.
  • Time-zone converter: Pick a source date, time, and source time zone, and the local date/time in each target city is listed instantly. Use "Use current time" to fill in the present moment.
  • Examples (click to try): Click a preset such as "Tokyo → New York" to fill the converter and see the result right away.

Worked example: what time is 6 PM Tokyo in London?

If you convert from a source of "Tokyo 18:00," London shows 10:00 the same day. The offset between Japan and London is 9 hours in winter (standard time), but during London's daylight saving period (late March to late October) it is 8 hours, giving 10:00. The offset changes with daylight saving, but because it is calculated automatically for the date you pick, you never have to remember to "shift an hour in summer" yourself. Day boundaries are handled too: 00:30 in Tokyo is 10:30 AM the previous day in New York, and the date is shown correctly.

Common use cases

  • Scheduling online meetings with overseas partners or colleagues
  • Checking the local time before calling family or friends who live abroad
  • Understanding the time difference between departure and arrival for travel or business trips

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my input data sent to a server?
No. Both the live clock display and the time-zone conversion run entirely in your browser. Your input is never transmitted to or stored on any server, so you can use this tool with confidence.
Is daylight saving time (DST) taken into account?
Yes. The tool uses the browser's built-in Intl.DateTimeFormat, so the start and end of daylight saving in each time zone are applied automatically based on the date you pick. For example, the offset between Tokyo and New York is 13 or 14 hours depending on the season, and it is calculated correctly for the chosen date.
Which time zone is each displayed time based on?
Each city's time is shown using that city's IANA time zone. "Your location" uses the time zone configured on your device. In the converter, the local time of each target city is calculated from the date and time entered in the chosen source time zone.
