How to Use the Recipe Scaler
Enter the original serving count, the new serving count and one ingredient per line. Amounts scale live, so you can double a recipe, halve a batch or resize a family recipe without recalculating each ingredient by hand.
The scaler looks for numeric amounts at the start of each ingredient line and keeps the unit and ingredient name in place. It works well for common recipe lines such as 200g pork, 2 tbsp soy sauce and 1.5 cups flour. Use the Unit Converter when you also need tablespoon, teaspoon or millilitre conversions.
Example (2 → 4 servings)
200g pork → 400g pork
2 tbsp soy sauce → 4 tbsp soy sauceGood For
- Scaling a dinner recipe from 2 servings to 4, 6 or 8 servings.
- Reducing a baking test batch before committing to the full quantity.
- Resizing ingredient lists copied from a note, blog post or cookbook draft.
FAQ
What conversion standards are used?
1 tbsp = 15 ml, 1 tsp = 5 ml, and 1 cup = 240 ml (US measuring cup) by default, with a 1 cup = 200 ml (Japanese cup) option. Direct g ↔ volume conversion requires density and is not supported.
How should I format ingredients?
One ingredient per line: amount + unit + name, e.g. 200g pork, 2 tbsp soy sauce.
Is my data sent to a server?
