Timer & Stopwatch

A countdown timer, stopwatch and Pomodoro (25-minute focus) right in your browser. Timing is based on the real clock, so it stays accurate even when you switch tabs, and a gentle beep (mutable) sounds when time is up. Everything runs on your device.

Examples (click to try):
05:00

How to Use the Timer & Stopwatch

Use the segments at the top to switch between Countdown, Stopwatch and Pomodoro. In every mode, timing is based on your device's real clock, so it stays accurate even when this tab goes into the background while you work in another.

Countdown timer

Enter minutes and seconds and press Start; the remaining time appears large and counts down. Pause stops it, pressing again resumes, and Reset returns to the original time. When it reaches zero, the tab title flashes and a gentle beep sounds (toggle it with Mute).

Click an example chip above the inputs ("3 min", "5 min", "10 min", "Pomodoro") to set that time and start immediately. Trying an example first, then editing it to your own time, is the quickest way to start.

Worked example: for instant noodles, press the "3 min" chip โ€” the display starts at 03:00 and counts down, and at 00:00 it flashes "โฐ Time's up" with a beep. Handy for cooking on the stove or signalling the end of a break.

Stopwatch

Press Start to begin and Stop to pause. While running, press Lap to record the elapsed time and split for that point below. Reset returns to 00:00.0. Use "Copy laps" to copy all records at once.

Pomodoro (25-minute focus)

A simple cycle that alternates 25 minutes of focus with a 5-minute break. Start begins "Focus (25 min)", and at zero it automatically switches to "Break (5 min)". A beep marks each switch, helping you build a rhythm for study or work.

When This Helps

  • As a kitchen timer for cooking (instant noodles, boiling, steeping).
  • For timing intervals during exercise or stretching.
  • For managing focus sessions with Pomodoro while studying or working.
  • For timing and recording laps with the stopwatch.

Even with numbers already entered, pressing an example chip starts right away โ€” handy when you want to time things quickly with minimal clicks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the times and laps I enter sent to a server?
No. The timer, stopwatch and Pomodoro all run entirely in your browser, and the times you set or laps you record are never transmitted to or stored on any server. No sign-up is needed, so you can use it with complete confidence.
What happens if I close or reload the tab?
Because the timer and stopwatch run on your device, closing or reloading the tab resets the count. Keep the tab open while timing. Note that timing is based on the real clock on your device, so it stays accurate even if you switch to another tab and this one goes into the background.
The end sound is not playing โ€” what should I do?
Browsers may block audio until you interact with the page. Press Start (or another button) once and the beep will play. If you do not want sound, turn it off with the Mute button; the page also flashes the tab title when the countdown reaches zero.
