Dummy Text Generator
Fill your mockup with realistic placeholder text in seconds. Choose English Lorem ipsum or Japanese, set paragraph and sentence counts, and copy straight to your design tool. Runs entirely in your browser — nothing leaves your machine.
How to Use the Dummy Text Generator
Select your language (English / Japanese), set the number of paragraphs and sentences per paragraph in the form above, then click "Generate." Use the "Copy" button to copy all the text to your clipboard and paste it directly into your design tool or editor.
- English (Lorem ipsum): The standard dummy text used since the era of movable type printing. Its classical Latin feel makes it ideal for layout reviews.
- Japanese: Dummy text composed of natural-sounding Japanese sentences. Useful for checking Japanese fonts and vertical text layouts.
- Paragraphs: Specify the number of paragraphs to generate, from 1 to 20.
- Sentences: Specify the number of sentences per paragraph, from 1 to 15.
New here? Just click a preset chip ("3 paragraphs", "5 sentences (1 para)", and so on) — it sets the options and generates the text in a single click.
Worked example: choosing 3 paragraphs and 2 sentences
Set the language to English, Paragraphs to "3", and Sentences per paragraph to "2", then click Generate. You get three paragraphs, each made of two sentences (the word order is random, so it varies slightly each time):
Sample output:
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet consectetur adipiscing elit. Sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore.
Ut enim ad minim veniam quis nostrud exercitation. Duis aute irure in reprehenderit voluptate velit esse.
Excepteur sint occaecat cupidatat non proident sunt. Nemo enim ipsam voluptatem quia voluptas aspernatur aut.
Increase the numbers to add more paragraphs or sentences, so you can match the real-world amount of copy a text area or card will hold.
