Each page is rendered in the browser and exported as an image. Higher resolution is sharper but uses more memory and produces larger files. Some embedded fonts or unusual drawing may not reproduce perfectly. Password-protected or corrupted PDFs may fail to load.
What Rasterization Changes
Each PDF page is rendered into a raster image. The image no longer has selectable text, working links or forms, or infinitely scalable vector artwork. This is useful for sharing appearance, but not as an archival replacement for a searchable PDF. Selecting only the needed pages reduces processing time and memory.
